8 WEDGE® – One-Firefighter Forcible Entry Tool

Hold the gain while you reset, reposition, and continue the force.

  • Holds the gap so one firefighter can continue the force

  • Supports halligan work on inward and outward swinging doors

  • Built for repeated fireground forcible entry use

How the 8 WEDGE® Works

Drive it, hold the gain, continue the force.

  1. Create the gap
Drive the 8 WEDGE® into the frame using a striking tool like a halligan or axe.

  2. Hold the gain
Once the wedge contacts the jamb, remove your striking tool. The wedge holds the gain and keeps the gap from closing.

  3. Continue the force
Work the halligan through the gap while the 8 WEDGE® holds your progress.

  4. Widen the opening
As the door is crushed beyond the jamb, drive the 8 WEDGE® into the gap to make a wider opening and finish the force.
